School Liason Performance

Keay Theatre

Cornwall College St. Austell continues to forge close relationships with local schools and this live performance of contemporary dance was a fine example of their efforts.

BTEC National Diploma Dance students make up the ensemble Echo Dance Theatre at the College. The Echo students spent 4 weeks working with pupils from Charlestown, Poltair and Brannel, not only choreographing the individual pieces, but also working on the music production as well as costume and lighting.

The young pupils from Charlestown clearly loved every minute of performing in a real theatre, and their beautiful singing at the end of their dance brought roars of approval from a packed audience.

Brannel and Poltair danced with passion and pride, hopefully there will be some amongst them who carry their dancing on to join the college and be part of Echo.

The show was brought to a close by Echo Dance Theatre; using a backdrop film and the sounds of the sea, the students performed a moving piece exploring the life of Nick Darke.

A wonderful showcase of dedication and hard work from everyone involved.
