The Maccabees
The Maccabees
Eden Sessions
Booking The Maccabees as the opener for Razorlight was inspired thinking; the
Brighton-based Indie rockers have worked solidly over the past 5 years and
achieved well earned plaudits from the likes of 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.
Frontman Orlando Weeks sauntered onto the Eden stage brimming with a
confidence way beyond his years and The Maccabees launched into a faultless set.
Latchmere, Toothpaste Kisses, No Kind Words saw the arena slowly filling with people
drawn from the bars where they were hanging out because they ‘didn’t know who The
Maccabees were’. By the time the boys reached a blistering rendition of Love You
Better the crowd had grown almost to capacity and the band suddenly found a new
army of fans. An unexpectedly energetic gig from this young band who are destined for
greater things.
