Halloween Bash at Tregorrick Park

Halloween Bash In Aid of The Merlin Project

St. Austell Rugby Club

Tregorrick Park was transformed into the Rocky Horror Show meets Beetlejuice on Saturday night as hundreds of people turned out for fireworks, fancy dress and live music.

The rain gave way to a fine evening and a fantastic display of fireworks which could be seen for miles, and then it was indoors for the free live gig. Sam Howard kicked off the proceedings with an impressive acoustic blues set. Fairly new on the local gig scene, Sam gave an acccomplished and professional performance which will ensure future bookings.

Next up were Falmouth's finest - Pelt, true rock'n'rollers who play hard and party harder, they rocked the room with original material from the dark side. A rare chance to see this lovely lot perform loud and live, St. Austell's music fans welcomed their individual style and sense of fun.

Filling the dance floor to round the night off were Gallowglass, who have rapidly become one of our most popular local bands as they play to packed pubs and clubs across the County. Turning classic rock and folk songs on their head and giving them a Gallowglass twist with plenty of guitars, strings, loud drums and even a very strange Ebay instrument, the band soon have everyone out of their seats and stomping. After a massive 3 encores, the boys finally called time, but not before an amazing version of 'Sympathy For The Devil'.

As the last notes faded away, the lights came up on a brilliant night of live local music - all performed with passion by musicians who passed up paid gigs to support the Merlin Project.
