Florence & The Machine
Florence And The Machine
Eden Sessions
Eden proudly refuses to acknowledge support bands as such, preferring to call everyone
top acts, and Florence is certainly as top as you can get at the moment. In a short space
of time, and having only just released her first album, Florence has become the darling
of the festival circuit and managed to sing her way into the hearts of the most caustic of
music journos. Her performance at Eden was this year's must see, despite
mutterings around me of 'who the hell is she?', there were loud cheers for
spellbinding renditions of Kiss With The Fist, Dogs Days and You Got The Love.
Heartening to hear fans of Florence joining in with the words, meaning they've already
bought the album or else they listen to our own Radio St. Austell Bay where a certain
presenter has been banging on about Florence and the band for quite some time.
The Machine were tight, clearly enjoying the Eden night and Florence revelled in the
atmosphere filling the stage with chaotic dancing and her stunning voice. A cross
between Tori Amos, Kate Bush and Siouxsie Sioux, Florence is destined for great
things.
